A resident of Kirov found someone else’s bank card, used it to make purchases, and received an eight-month sentence in a strict-regime penal colony.
On February 22, a 48-year-old man from Kirov, previously convicted (Articles 111, 117 and 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), found a woman's bank card on the street. He decided to use the money on it for his own purposes. He used the money to make purchases at several grocery stores, including alcohol. As a result, he caused material damage to the victim in the amount of 7,300 rubles. A criminal case was initiated against the man under point "g" of part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft from a bank account). The man reimbursed the material damage before the court handed down its sentence. The court sentenced the repeat offender to eight months' imprisonment to be served in a strict-regime penal colony. The man decided to appeal the sentence to the appellate court, but the sentence was upheld.
