A fraud scheme involving two female pensioners has been uncovered.
According to officers of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Kirov Region, the perpetrators posed as special services officers and convinced her to hand the money over to a courier "for safekeeping."
As it turned out, the courier was an 80-year-old resident of Kirov. She was also deceived: the fraudsters persuaded the pensioner to cash out her own savings and instructed her to collect money from another victim for "declaration."
Criminal cases have been opened in both instances. The police are conducting an investigation and are identifying those involved in the crime.
