A memorial for the 80th anniversary of Victory is being created in Srednie Shunya.

In the village of Srednie Shuni in the Vyatskopolyansky District, a new memorial to fellow villagers who took part in the Great Patriotic War will be erected in honor of the Victory anniversary. The complex will consist of three granite slabs. A bas-relief depicting a Soviet soldier will be placed on the central slab; the names of residents of the villages of Srednie Shuni and Sinyaur who went to the front will be carved on the other two. There are 206 people in the list in total.

Paving stones will be laid around the slabs, lighting and an "Eternal Flame" will be installed, which will be lit on commemorative dates. As for the old monument that stood on this site, the bust of the Soviet soldier has been moved to the village museum, and its pedestal will become part of the new complex.

The ceremonial opening is planned for early September. This was reported by the regional government.
