Residents of the Volga Federal District are in no hurry to like their colleagues' and friends' posts.

      According to the survey, more than half of respondents from the Volga Federal District (53%) react with a "heart" only when a post truly moves them. Another 18% admitted that they hardly use likes — one of the lowest rates in the country. For comparison: in the Irkutsk region 38% of residents like posts daily.

      Those most active on social media are workers in education and science (51%), marketing and PR (34%), and retail (20%). By contrast, construction workers (53%) and security personnel (30%) are more likely than others to refrain from emotional reactions.

      Interestingly, residents of the Volga region themselves believe that marketers give likes most often — 65% of respondents think so. Also named among the "emotional" professions are the arts and media (31%) and tourism (28%). A like from a lawyer or a law-enforcement officer is considered rare — 38% of respondents are convinced that people in these professions hardly express emotions online.

      For half of those surveyed, a like is a way to highlight genuinely interesting content; for 17% it is a form of support and approval. 12% give "hearts" out of politeness, 9% do so automatically, without much meaning. At the same time, residents of the region pay close attention to feedback: 73% check who liked their post, and only 23% pay no attention to this.

      Experts note that the habit of liking is more related to personality type than to the content itself: extroverts and empathetic people are more likely to react, while introverts and those who prefer distance do so significantly less often.
