A resident of the Kirov Region addressed the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, in a comment on the page of his reception office. According to her, poor-quality major repairs were carried out on five apartment buildings on Lenina and Pushkina streets in the settlement of Rechnoy. In 2017 a specialized fund and A‑Stroy LLC signed a contract to carry out work to restore the integrity of the structures of the residential buildings. At the same time, the contractor committed numerous violations and used substandard materials. As a result, apartments have been flooded when it rains for several years. The residents’ appeals to various authorities have yielded no results. A criminal case is currently being investigated by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region in connection with this matter. Bastrykin has requested a report from the acting head of that department for the Kirov Region, Maxim Kozlov, on the progress and results of the investigation.
