The telecom equipment operates in a modern 4G band, which offers high capacity and strong signal penetration. Thus all passengers and airport staff, which handles more than ten domestic flights daily, can use all modern digital services in real time.
"Tourist traffic to Kirov Oblast is growing every year, and it was important for us to provide the regional airport with mobile internet. Today our equipment can boost data transfer speeds to 60 Mbps — now, at the height of the holiday season, numerous tourists will be able to stay online, share photos and comfortably spend time waiting for flights. In addition, voice service in VoLTE mode has become available in the terminal building — this technology allows you to talk and surf the web at the same time, providing high connection speeds and excellent sound quality," said Alexander Maksimov, director of MegaFon in Kirov Oblast.
As noted by the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of Kirov Oblast, the regional government is carrying out ongoing work to develop communications across the region so that residents can use electronic services and stay connected with loved ones. Infrastructure construction projects are being implemented jointly with telecom operators. The arrival of 4G at the airport is an important step for the comfort of residents and visitors to the region. In addition, a map of free Wi‑Fi access points, where you can view the list of internet access locations, has been posted on the regional government's website.
