Investigators have launched a probe into the incident in which a scooter rider collided with an elderly woman.

      Earlier we reported that during the daytime on August 12 an unknown person on a scooter knocked down a 70-year-old woman near building No. 31 on Lenina Street in the city of Kirov and fled the scene of the accident. The pensioner sustained injuries.

      On this fact, the Investigative Department for the Pervomaisky District of the city of Kirov of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region has opened a preliminary inquiry under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for consumers' lives and health).

      Investigators of the Investigative Committee are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the inquiry.
