Oleg Valenchuk: We will give a chance to new champions!

Member of the State Duma, President of the Judo Federation of the Kirov Region Oleg Valenchuk, conducted a remote reception as part of the regional week. Honored Coach of the RF Igor Glubokovsky and Director of the multidisciplinary technical college in Sovetsk Andrey Tikhomirov addressed the parliamentarian with a request to assist in creating a new judo development center in the city. Sovetsk is becoming an increasingly prominent point on the map of Russian adaptive sports. Here, in a unique symbiosis of education and professional sports, children with disabilities not only receive quality education but also achieve heights in judo, thanks to the targeted work of the Kirov Region Judo Federation and the high professionalism of local coaches.

At the heart of this story is the Sovetsk boarding school, where students with health limitations combine their studies with intensive judo training under the guidance of Honored Coach of Russia Igor Glubokovsky. This integration of educational and sports processes allows the children to develop fully, compensating for physical limitations with activities and achievements in sports.

"Recently, the Industrial Pedagogical College and the College of Industry and Folk Crafts merged," said Igor Glubokovsky. "The new institution, the Multidisciplinary Technical College of Sovetsk, will become the main educational platform where graduates of our school will enroll. Additionally, it has facilities for organizing gyms. We have reached an agreement with Director Andrey Tikhomirov, who is ready to assist in developing this direction."

It should be noted that Igor Glubokovsky has trained two Paralm pic gold medalists—Mikhail Sidorov and Elena Svintsova. Prominent examples of the success of his program also include two-time Russian champions Anton Syuzhev and Abram Zhukov.

"The success of adaptive judo in the region is not accidental. It is a direct result of the national strategy for the development of adaptive sports—an initiative of President Vladimir Putin. Kirov Region actively implements this strategy, becoming one of the leading centers of adaptive judo in the country," noted Oleg Valenchuk. "I am convinced that on the basis of the multidisciplinary technical college, we will create a platform that offers a chance for new champions."

The deputy took on the issue of coordinating the financing of a new training hall with the relevant regional ministries. Oleg Valenchuk also promised assistance in acquiring tatami for the new sports facility. The plan of the President of the Judo Federation of the Kirov Region is to further develop this area, including hosting the second Adaptive Judo Festival in Kirov in October 2025.
