From January to July, more than 742,000 cars were sold in Russia.

      According to the department, from January to July of this year, 742,069 new cars (up to three years old) were sold in Russia. It should be noted that this figure is 26% lower than the same period in 2024, when 1,003,120 cars were sold. The market for new domestically produced cars during this period exceeded 408,000 units, which is 8% less than the January-July 2024 figures.

      The passenger car segment accounted for 646,702 units, 24% less than the previous year. The light commercial vehicle segment totaled 58,006 units, down 19% compared to January-July 2024. The truck segment decreased by 55% year-over-year, with 31,430 trucks sold during the period.

      The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that in July this year, 134,500 new cars were sold, which is 33% more than the previous month.

      It is noted that the share of Russian-made vehicles increased by 11% during January-July of this year compared to the same period in 2024. In July, the volume of domestically produced car sales reached 74,700 units, an 8% increase from July 2024. Imported cars sold during that month were 33% fewer than in July 2024, totaling 59,700 units.
