Rosgvardians from Perm won the Sambo championship held in Kirov.
The Kirov Championship of the Kirov Division of the National Guard of Russia in Sambo was held in Kirov. 28 National Guard servicemen from six cities competed for victory. The tournament served as a qualifying stage for the regional team, which will participate in the Volga Federal District Championship in Nizhny Novgorod.
The competition was opened by Captain Vladimir Galushko, the head of physical training and sports of the Kirov Division. He reminded everyone that Sambo is a system of self-defense without weapons, developed specifically for law enforcement agencies, combining elements of classical wrestling, judo, and jiu-jitsu.
Before the matches began, first-category referee and Sambo master of sports Denis Bilytsky briefed participants on the rules: the tournaments were conducted based on an Olympic system in a personal-team format.
As a result of the championship, the first place was won by the team from Perm, the second by fighters from Votkinsk, and third by representatives from Kazan. These participants will now join the roster of the Volga Zhukov District of the Russian Guard and will travel to the final competitions in Nizhny Novgorod.
