      According to the Kirov Region Prosecutor's Office, the man had previously been convicted of theft and fraud.

      The incident occurred on November 23, 2022. The victim handed the defendant his phone to help with purchasing railway tickets. Instead of fulfilling the request, the accused used the bank's mobile application to transfer 97,000 rubles to himself, which he then disposed of at his discretion.

      The court found him guilty under paragraph "g" of part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to two years in a high-security penal colony. Additionally, the convicted individual was ordered to compensate the victim for material damages.
