
In June, drivers in the Kirov region hit 17 moose and one wild boar.
In the first month of summer, there were 18 traffic accidents involving wild animals in the region's roads. In 17 cases, moose died, and in one case, a wild boar. Additionally, two people were injured.
The accidents occurred in the following districts: Afanasyevsky, Belozolotsky, Darysovsky, Kirovo-Chepetsky, Kumyensky, Orichevsky, Orlovsky, Slobodskoy, Shabalinsky, Yuryevsky, Yarsky, as well as in Kirov.
The press service of the Ministry of Environment of the Kirov region reminded of the basic rules to avoid accidents:
- observe speed limits
- turn on high beams outside the city if there are no oncoming vehicles
- fog lights will help better see the roadside
- be attentive near the "Wild Animals" sign and where the forest is close to the road
- do not honk if an animal is standing on the roadside — it is better to pass slowly.
