The second stage of the Elocutionary Championship among inmates in the Kirov region has concluded. The competitions covered dozens of creative fields — from TV journalism and crafts to folk singing and fashion design.

The main goal of the event is not just entertainment but to promote social rehabilitation and to reveal the creative potential of people in correctional facilities. The championship is organized by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the criminal executive system authorities, with support from the National D.C. Council of Russia.

This year, the female colony No. 33 proved to be the most active — its participants became winners in several categories. For example, in "Solo Folk Singing," the first place was taken by an inmate with the song "Chamomile-Aster," and in the "Ensemble Singing" category, the "Lozkari" group won. Representatives from IK-33 also excelled in hairdressing and fashion design: costumes inspired by the novel "War and Peace" (16+).

An inmate from IK-27 was the best in the "Culinary Art" category, preparing real plov, while a vocal group from IK-11 won the jury's hearts with songs by "Lube" and "Alisa." Participants from IK-5 and IK-6 confidently competed in "Painting" and "Artistic Reading," and in TV journalism — the cable TV studio from IK-6 with a video about the Victory Parade.

The winners will now move on to the next stage — participation in an interregional round, which will be held remotely. In the final of the Elocutionary Championship, inmates from the Kirov region will compete with talented individuals from other regions of Russia.

Convicts from the colonies of the Kirov region sang, created costumes based on "War and Peace," and even cooked pilaf—all as part of the second stage of the Delphic Championship, where inmates had the opportunity to showcase their creativity and compete for a spot in the interregional final.
