Russia will officially close 20 border crossings with Ukraine.
Starting from August 1, 2025, Russia will close 20 border crossing points along the border with Ukraine. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The list includes 13 road and seven railway crossings, many of which have effectively been non-operational since 2022.
The closure is connected to the changing of the state border and the revision of the intergovernmental agreement from 1995 under which these border crossings previously operated.
Among the road crossings are Bezimenо, Vergeleka, Golovchino, Klimenki, Tishanka (Belgorod region), Belaya Beryozka, Zernovo (Bryansk region), Donetsk (Severny), Kuibyshevo, Mozhaevka, Titovka (Rostov region), Novobelya (Voronezh region), and Tетkino (Kursk region).
The railway points being closed include Gartmashivka (Voronezh region), Dolbino and Vystrel passing loops (Belgorod region), Lokot, Tetkino, Karier 122 km passing loop, and Chertkovo (Rostov region).
Official authorities explain the decision as necessary to optimize border infrastructure and enhance security at the border.
