An elderly woman from Kirov was deceived by two scammers at once.

According to the Kirov Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 96-year-old woman from Kirov became a victim of scammers. An unknown caller on her home phone introduced himself as a "Rostelecom employee" and informed her that her service contract had expired. To renew it, he asked for her mobile phone number, which she provided.

Later, a man called the elderly woman on her mobile phone, pretending to be a "lawyer-expert from Roskomnadzor." He convinced her that she needed to declare her cash savings to avoid an "unauthorized loan" being taken out in her name. The woman was told to hand over the money to a courier who would "perform the necessary procedures and return it." The pensioner handed over 160,000 rubles to the stranger who came to her.

The regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urged residents of Kirov not to ignore their elderly relatives, to explain specific methods of scams, and to develop a communication algorithm for such situations.
