New support measures for children of WWII veterans approved in the Kirov region

The Legislative Assembly approved a law in two readings aimed at expanding support measures for the children of combat veterans who participated in the special military operation. According to the new regulations, these children will have priority rights for admission to kindergartens and schools, including cases of transferring from one educational organization to another. Additionally, starting September 1, 2025, they will be entitled to free after-school care in regional state schools. Local self-government bodies will be able to establish similar support measures at their own expense. This will allow children to attend after-school programs for free in municipal schools. According to the Ministry of Education, around 150 children will benefit from these support measures, including 70 studying in state schools. In 2025, implementing the law (for state schools) will require at least 747,900 rubles from the regional budget. For all schools (state and municipal), approximately 3.8 million rubles will be needed annually.
