118 municipalities of the region have joined the fight against giant hogweed.
According to Alexander Kiselev, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Kirov Region, 32 million rubles have been allocated from the regional budget this year under the regional state program "Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex" to combat giant hogweed.
118 municipalities of the Kirov Region are involved in the fight against this dangerous weed: all of them have signed relevant agreements with contracting organizations to carry out the necessary work. Agricultural enterprises in the region are also engaged in eliminating this weed.
As of July 15, giant hogweed has been destroyed on an area of 1,533.2 hectares. The second phase of work, including re-treatment of the weed, is scheduled to be completed by September 30.
