The sentence for Judge Ledensky will only hit his "pension pocket."

Evidence used to support a guilty verdict was the listening in on his conversations. Ledenskikh was found guilty of "obstruction of justice through abuse of official position," and was immediately released from punishment due to "expiration of the statute of limitations." This was more than expected, as Igor Vladimirovich's criminal prosecution was initiated five years earlier. However, according to a "judicial source," the former deputy chairman of the court will not remain without punishment. On July 25, a meeting of the Qualification Collegium of Judges of the Kirov Region will take place, where "the suspension of Ledenskikh's dismissal following the verdict" is the first item on the agenda. If the Kirov Qualification Collegium decides that the verdict for "wiping the judge's feet on a federal law" is grounds for terminating his dismissal (which occurred "at his personal request" in 2021, as well as the deprivation of immunity upon the request of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, and the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges), Ledenskikh will attain the legal status of a "former judge." He will also automatically lose the "pension benefits" due to "retired judges." It should be noted that on February 13, 2021, Igor Vladimirovich's powers were terminated by a written resignation, after nearly four and a half years during which the state paid him a "deserved rest" of about 100,000 rubles per month (interestingly, according to the 2016 income declaration, Ledenskikh earned over five million rubles). Three years of judicial proceedings Incidentally, multiple criminal cases related to Ledenskikh have been ongoing since 2022. The Industrial Court of Izhevsk acquitted the defendant twice. On October 31, 2022, Ledenskikh was acquitted due to the absence of a crime in his actions, with recognition of his right to rehabilitation. However, according to the appellate court, the district court, having relied only on the defendant's testimony and some witnesses, overlooked evidence presented by the prosecution, such as transcripts (wiretaps) from May 31, June 20, and 21, 2019 — conversations between Judge Merzlyakova and Ledenskikh. It also ignored the expert conclusion regarding Ledenskikh's remarks, which, as indicated in the appeal, could not attest to the legality of the court's decision. The Supreme Court of Udmurtia satisfied the prosecutor's appeal and overturned the acquittal, sending the case back for a new trial. The second acquittal was overturned by the Supreme Court of Udmurtia on September 5, 2024, upon the prosecutor's appeal, once again sending the case for re-examination. According to the prosecution, in April-June 2019, Igor Ledenskikh actively interfered in the activities of the Slobodskoy District Court, specifically with Judge Merzlyakova, who was handling a civil suit lodged by the environmental prosecution against the owner of a two-story cottage built on the riverbank. The prosecutor insisted that the land plots allocated to entrepreneur Leonid Noskov were formed illegally, and that the owner should be deprived of property rights. However, Ledenskikh, being friendly with Noskov, "through requests and persistent advice," persuaded the judge to make the "desired decision." He also met with the environmental prosecutor and asked for a waiver of part of the claim. Interestingly, in 2022, law enforcement agencies had "more serious claims" against Igor Vladimirovich related to the court decision recognizing the legality of the sale of the Victory Park land. The prosecutor, recognizing the sale—then overseen by the chairman of the City Duma Vladimir Bykov, who lacked proper authority— as illegal and requiring annulment, applied to the court. The court, citing the then-city manager Alexander Pereskokov's statement that no harm was caused to the city and that the land transfer was lawful, upheld the "Bykov initiative." According to the investigation, with objective evidence, the court's decision was allegedly "pushed through" by Igor Ledenskikh, possibly with the participation or at the request of former Udmurt Regional Court Chairman Yuri Barmine. As a result, the court ruling in favor of the Bykov-Yafarkin tandem turned the prosecutor, who was the plaintiff in the case concerning the preservation of Victory Park land, into a "principled antagonist" of Igor Ledenskikh.
