A man was convicted in Kirov for stealing a car using a tow truck.

      The court found him guilty of part "v" of clause 2 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — theft causing significant material damage.

      As established in court, on the evening of January 26, 2025, a young man, seeking illegal enrichment, secretly stole a Lada Granta parked at house No. 15 on Korolenko Street. He used a tow truck to transport the vehicle to a dismantling yard.

      The amount of damage to the victim was 260,000 rubles.

      Taking into account the position of the public prosecutor as well as mitigating circumstances, including the fact that the defendant has two minor children, the court sentenced him to one year of forced labor with part of his earnings withheld for the state. The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.
