The Investigative Committee reminded Kirov residents about forest safety.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region has urged residents to be especially careful while collecting mushrooms and berries. According to the department, cases of missing persons and poisoning from wild mushrooms and berries are reported annually during this period.
To prevent accidents, investigators remind everyone to inform relatives about their planned route and return time, carry a charged mobile phone, water, and a whistle. It is recommended to wear bright clothing, as it makes it easier to locate someone in case of disappearance.
It is important to only collect mushrooms and berries you are sure of, and to supervise children at all times. If you get lost, you should immediately call 112, stay in place, and give sound signals.
At the first signs of poisoning — nausea, weakness, dizziness — it is vital to urgently call an ambulance and, if possible, preserve samples of collected food for further analysis.
The Investigative Committee emphasizes that following basic safety measures can help save lives and health.
