The clearing of the Pizma Riverbed, which flows through the Pizma Nature Reserve, will take place near the town of Sovetsk. The work will help improve water quality in the river and the overall sanitation of the urban area, the regional government reported.
According to the project, more than 170,000 cubic meters of silt will be removed, and 60,000 square meters of shoreline vegetation will be cleared. Additionally, bank reclamation will be carried out, and the areas will be seeded with grass.
The Pizma River cleaning will occur in 2026–2027 as part of the federal project "Water of Russia," which is included in the national project "Environmental Well-being." Funding for the work will be provided from the federal budget.
