Drunk resident of Murugino insulted the prosecutor and faced criminal charges.

      On March 29th in the afternoon, a 64-year-old resident of the Yur'yansky district, while intoxicated, was viewing video reports of informational content on social media "VKontakte" on his phone. At some point, he saw a broadcast by a regional television company about the prosecutor of the Slobodskoi interdistrict prosecutor's office supporting charges in a criminal case of theft and a court verdict issued.

      Experiencing hostility towards a government official, the pensioner posted an offensive comment directed at a prosecutor under the video. This comment became accessible to a broad audience on the Internet.

      Although the man registered under a fictitious name, his location was identified. A criminal case was initiated against the resident of Murygino. He was convicted under Article 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public insult of a government official). He fully acknowledged his guilt.

      The court agreed with the prosecutor's evidence of his guilt and sentenced him to 4 months of corrective labor with part of his earnings withheld for the state's revenue. The verdict has entered into legal force.
