A worker at a chemical plant in Kirov died after being hospitalized with pneumonia.

      On July 9, Anatoly Shpilev, a synthesis operator from Kirovo-Chepetsk, died at Hospital No. 2 in Kirov. He and his colleague sought medical assistance on June 16, five days after a shift during which they performed work in production. Both were hospitalized with pneumonia. The other employee is currently in satisfactory condition.

      The company where Shpilev worked reported that on June 11, he worked the day shift from 08:00 to 20:00. On that day, a valve replacement was carried out on the water drain in the sewage system. According to company representatives, the workshop operated normally, and no incidents or deviations from the technological process were recorded.

      "Gas analyzers detected no hazardous substances in the air of the work area. Additionally, the medical service reports that no signs of poisoning, throat redness, or lung swelling were found in the employees," the Kirovo-Chepetsk company "GaloPolimer" stated.

      The exact cause of Shpilev’s death has not yet been officially disclosed.
