The administration explained why Vsesvyatskaya is spelled without an "h".

On July 1st, seven streets in Kirov were given their historic names back. One of them is Derendyayeva Street, which is now called Vsesvyatskaya Street. Kirov residents questioned why this particular option was chosen, as the street was previously named Vsekhsvyatskaya— in honor of the All Saints Church.

The Kirov administration explained why the spelling without the letter "x" was selected. The Central State Archive of the Kirov Region informed that an official document from the government body — the Vyatka Soviet of Workers’ and Red Army Deputies — exists. On October 21, 1918, it decided to rename the city streets. The minutes of the plenary meeting state that Vsekhsvyatskaya Street would be called Derendyayeva Street.

Additionally, maps of the Vyatka province city from 1910 and 1914 show the street name written without the "x". The administration added that both spellings appear in documents and maps. Since there was no exact fixation of the toponymic object names, both versions of the street name circulated among residents.

We previously reported on the history of the name Vsekhsvyatskaya Street. Furthermore, Newsler.ru requested comments from a Kirov tour guide and a priest, whose responses to the question about whether spelling the street without the "x" is correct diverged. Read the details here.
