From January 1 to June 30, 2025, 89.017 tons of birch chaga were exported from the Kirov region to Vietnam. This was reported by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the Kirov Region, Udmurt Republic, and Perm Krai.

The next batch of chaga—6.380 tons—was shipped on June 30. Prior to export, the product underwent laboratory testing at the Kirov branch of the FGBU "VNIIRK". The expertise confirmed the absence of quarantine harmful organisms, and a phytosanitary certificate was issued for the cargo.

The export of birch chaga from the Kirov region has been ongoing since 2017. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus, a polypore mushroom) is a parasite that grows on birch trees. It is used for medicinal and preventative purposes and is in demand abroad as a dietary supplement.
