The Mostovitsa River is being polluted by petroleum products.

Residents of the Chistye Prudy neighborhood contacted the Kirov branch of the All-Russian People's Front. According to the residents, unknown individuals have been polluting the Small Mstovitsa River for several months. Specifically, near house No. 1 on Mstovitskaya Street, there is a pipe with a diameter of over 40 centimeters, from which murky water with oily streaks flows into the river. Additionally, Kirov residents are concerned about a sharp, unpleasant odor.

Environmental activists sent a request to the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Water samples were taken, which later confirmed pollution of the river with petroleum products. The discharge of untreated sewage occurs from two pipes near the pedestrian bridge. It is also known that these pipes are unclaimed. The sewage comes from the territory of Chistye Prudy.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection issued a requirement to the Kirov administration to take the pipes under their responsibility and organize their cleaning to meet regulatory standards. Co-chair of the People's Front regional headquarters, Alena Chesnokova, added that such procedures could take at least a year and a half, even though pollution of the Mstovitsa was known four years ago. The ONF filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office to require the administration to take responsibility for the pipes through the court if necessary.
