Recall that on September 28, 2024, a terrible accident occurred in the village of Arbazh: a drunk man, while driving a "ten", flew into four pedestrians walking along the side of Sovetskaya Street. As a result, two women died — Galina Makina, chairman of the Duma of the Arbazhsky municipal District, and Natalia Tarbeeva, head of the municipal enterprise. Two more pedestrians were injured.
The driver was detained, and a criminal case was opened against him under paragraph "a" of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence). After reviewing the case, the court found the man guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of 9 years and 3 months, and also deprived the accused of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years. The man will serve his sentence in a general regime colony.
