More than 2 million foreigners have registered SIM cards under the new rules
In Russia, foreigners can register no more than 10 subscriber numbers in their name. At the same time, the contract for each of them must be drawn up according to the new rules: with confirmation of identity by biometrics. Citizens who already have a SIM card must reissue it before July 1. Under the new rules, more than 2 million foreigners have already issued SIM cards.
The press service of the Ministry of Finance told what a foreign citizen needs to do:
check the number of issued subscriber numbers in the "Sim cards" section on Public
Services, terminate contracts for excess numbers
, contact a telecom salon and confirm identity under the remaining contracts.
In the communication salon, you will need a verified Public Services account registered in the Unified Biometric System Biometrics, and a unique device number of 15 characters — IMEI. After July 1, the provision of services under contracts that have not yet been reissued will be phased out.
