
Kirov region is among the leaders in tick bites
Last year in Russia, the average number of people seeking medical help for tick bites decreased by 8.2%, amounting to 314.86 per 100,000 people. The maximum rates of registration of appeals (more than 1,000 per 100,000 people) were noted in several regions, including the Kirov region. At the same time, an increase relative to the long-term average is observed only in the Kirov region (by 10.6%).
As for tick-borne encephalitis, the epidemic process was most active in nine regions, including the Kirov region. Last year, the figure was 9.6 per 100,000 people.
The incidence of tick-borne borreliosis was higher than the national average in 29 regions. The Kirov region was among the subjects of the Russian Federation, where the highest rate is noted. It amounted to 20.55 per 100,000 people.
