An investigation into the shooting of moose and the theft of beehives has been completed in the Kirov region.

The investigation of the criminal case against three residents of Kotelnich has been completed in the Kirov region. From May to September last year, they illegally hunted moose, killing ten animals. The amount of damage caused to the wildlife of the region amounted to more than 3.5 million rubles.

The activities of the poachers were stopped by the staff of the criminal investigation Department and the soldiers of the Russian Guard. When examining the car of one of the defendants, it turned out that it was equipped with a cache for transporting weapons and meat. A room adapted for processing carcasses was found in the garage: there were meat grinders, knives, scales, a freezer and packages with minced meat and sausage.

The investigation found that the meat was sold to residents of Kotelnichsky district and Kirov. In addition, the group members were involved in a series of thefts in two districts of the region. They stole eleven beehives with bees and honey worth over 340 thousand rubles.

During the investigation, hunting weapons, ammunition and an improvised firing device disguised as a pen were seized from the accused. One of the men will be responsible not only for poaching and theft, but also for illegal possession of weapons.

The criminal case was sent to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court.
