Most Kirov residents consider higher education to be the key to a high income
Job search service SuperJob interviewed Kirov residents and found out that most of them consider higher education to be an important condition for raising their income. 62% of respondents agree that having a university degree opens up more financial prospects. Of these, 33% are completely convinced of this, and another 29% are more likely to agree.
Women are more likely than men to share the opinion about the importance of higher education. At the same time, the largest number of supporters of this point of view are among young people under 35 and people over 45 (63% and 68%, respectively). Respondents aged 35 to 45 are less confident in the benefits of a diploma: only 55% of them agree with the statement.
The survey results also showed that income level influences the assessment of the role of education. Among those who earn less than 50 thousand rubles, 70% are confident that a university degree contributes to earnings growth. Among the more affluent respondents, 55% support this point of view. Moreover, absolute confidence in this is more common among people with lower—than-average incomes - 37%.
Interestingly, the advantage of higher education is recognized not only by its holders. College graduates are even more likely than university graduates (67% versus 63%) to talk about the importance of a university degree. They cite personal experience of job refusals due to lack of higher education. "It's not always possible for people with secondary education to get a decent job," said one of the survey participants.
