The Velikoretsky procession began in Kirov

      Today, on June 3, 2025, the Velikoretsky Procession began in Kirov, a traditional pilgrimage that annually gathers tens of thousands of believers from all over the country. A column of pilgrims, monks and clergymen started from the walls of the Trifonov Monastery, accompanied by an icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

      According to our correspondent, there are no fewer pilgrims this year than last year. As before, not only residents of the Kirov region, but also from all over the country are using the course. Nikita Belykh, the ex-governor of the Kirov region, also appeared at the walls of the temple.

      The route passes through the villages of Bobino, Zagarye, Monastyrskoye and Gorokhovo to the village of Velikoretskoye in the Yuryansky district, where, according to legend, the miraculous image appeared in the 14th century. The return route runs through Medyany and Murygino. The total length of the route is more than 150 kilometers.

      Security and organization are provided by police officers, rescuers, medics and volunteers. Tents, field kitchens, and medical centers have been set up in the parking lots.

      The pilgrims are expected to arrive in Velikoretskoye on June 6, where a festive liturgy will be held. The return to Kirov is scheduled for June 8.
