For 72% of Kirov residents, the prospect of loneliness is not alarming. According to the survey, 39% consider privacy to be the norm, and another third (33%) are more likely not to feel uncomfortable being alone with themselves. Many perceive this as an opportunity for self—development and inner freedom: "A self-sufficient person is never alone," the participants explain.
However, 28% of Kirov residents admitted that they are still afraid of loneliness. Of these, 8% have strong fear, and 20% have rather negative feelings. Among the arguments are concerns about health and the absence of loved ones nearby: "It's scary to be alone if you get sick," the respondents note.
Women are more likely than men to talk about the fear of loneliness. There are also more anxious people under the age of 35 — 37% are not ready for life alone. The financial situation also affects perception: among those who earn less than 50 thousand rubles, 38% experience anxiety, and among Kirov residents with incomes over 100 thousand — only 24%.
