What can't be collected for debts: Russians reminded of their rights
If a person has not paid the debt voluntarily, the bailiff may apply enforcement measures. However, even in this case, not all property can be seized.
The Federal Bailiff Service recalled that in accordance with Article 446 of the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, there is a list of property that cannot be foreclosed on.
This list includes:
the only housing (if it is not mortgaged);
the land under this dwelling;
household items and personal belongings (excluding luxury items and jewelry);
professional equipment worth up to 10 thousand rubles;
pets, livestock, feed, and outbuildings (if they are not used for business);
seeds for sowing;
food and money in the amount of the subsistence minimum;
fuel needed for heating and cooking;
transport and property intended for use by the disabled;
state awards, prizes and commemorative signs.
The department emphasizes that it is possible to avoid the seizure of property provided that debts are paid in full and on time. Citizens, entrepreneurs, and legal entities are strongly advised not to bring the situation to foreclosure.
