Kirov residents rated their bosses: generation X is more authoritative, generation Y is stronger in IT
According to a SuperJob survey, managers from Generation X (born in 1961-1984) are more often perceived by subordinates as undoubted authorities. This was reported by 20% of Kirov residents working under their supervision. Among the subordinates of younger managers from generation Y (1985-2004), only 10% expressed this opinion.
Generation X is also more likely to demonstrate a pragmatic and realistic approach to work: 21% and 15% of respondents noted these qualities, respectively. At the same time, young managers turned out to be stronger in IT — 15% of respondents told about the developed digital skills of their bosses from generation Y, and only 12% of older managers.
Young managers have more pronounced modern managerial approaches: they interact more often with subordinates on equal terms (26% vs. 16%), adhere to an informal style of communication (31% vs. 24%), adapt faster to changes in the market (25% vs. 18%), use feedback more readily (25% vs. 21%) and formulate tasks more clearly (29% versus 25%).
