The Karinthorf bridge will be opened to traffic on May 30
On May 28, in Kirovo-Chepetsk, a special visiting commission conducted the acceptance of a floating bridge over the Cheptsa River, which provides transport links to the Karintorf microdistrict. Following the inspection, the pontoon ferry was declared fully operational.
The official opening of traffic on this temporary floating bridge for all types of transport with a lifting capacity of up to 20 tons, as well as for pedestrians, is scheduled for May 30. Before that, the contractor will carry out work on grading the road and access roads to the bridge.
It should be recalled that the floating bridge was built on April 7 during the spring flood. As soon as the water level in the Cheptsa River dropped to the required level, work began on restoring the crossing.
The opening dates of the bridge vary annually depending on the flood situation: for example, in 2024, traffic started on May 29, in 2023 — on May 26, whereas in 2022 and 2021 it happened in June.
