Fraudsters stole 350 thousand from a pensioner from Kirov

      In Kirov, fraudsters deceived an 85-year-old woman by calling her home phone. First, they introduced themselves as employees of the phone company and, under the pretext of extending the service agreement, lured her passport data. Then people called employees of the prosecutor's office and other departments got in touch. They said that the woman urgently needs to protect her money and transfer it to a "secure account." The pensioner transferred 350 thousand rubles and only later realized that she had become a victim of fraud.

      A few days later, unknown people contacted her again. They promised to return the lost funds if she helps in the "investigation." According to the instructions of the callers, the woman went to different addresses, took money packages from other elderly people and handed them over. The police found out that, without realizing it, she became a participant in the scheme and was involved in at least three cases of embezzlement in the amount of more than 1.8 million rubles.

      Now law enforcement officers are trying to identify all the members of the criminal group and return the stolen funds.
