An investigation into the death of a worker has been completed at the Omutninsky Metallurgical Plant

      The State Labor Inspectorate in the Kirov Region has completed an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred at JSC Omutninsky Metallurgical Plant. The tragedy happened on March 17, 2025: a 33-year-old gas cutter was crushed by metal sheets.

      As experts have established, the cause of the incident was a violation of the technological process — metal blanks were placed unsafe. Shortcomings in the organization of work control and failures in the occupational health and safety management system at the enterprise were also noted.

      During the inspection, the inspection additionally revealed that the deceased worker was not fully provided with personal protective equipment, as required by the regulations. These circumstances are not directly related to the cause of death, but they are also recorded as violations.

      The deputy head of the State Labor Inspectorate, A.D. Loginov, said that the issue of bringing a legal entity and responsible officials to administrative responsibility under art. 5.27.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation is being considered.
