Police awarded bank employees for fraud prevention

      A solemn awarding ceremony was held at the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for employees of one of the branches of Sberbank. They noticed the signs of fraud in time and were able to dissuade the elderly from sending money to criminals.

      According to the police, scammers still use telephone communication and the Internet to extort money from people. Pensioners especially often fall into their traps. Criminals call home phones and introduce themselves as employees of various organizations. Under the pretext of extending the contract or verifying data, the attackers request personal information, and then begin to intimidate.

      Elderly people are threatened, posing as government officials, and demanded to hand over cash to a courier, ostensibly for verification. Sometimes the interlocutors persuade you to withdraw money from your account and give it to strangers. Such schemes bring large sums to criminals.

      Thanks to the attentiveness of the bank's employees, who notice disturbing signs in the behavior of customers, it is possible to stop the transfers and alert the police. Thus, bank employees Nadezhda Zemtsova and Olga Shulakova were able to save customers from losing their savings.
