Barges from Sovetsk moored in Kirov

      Today, on May 16, barges arrived in Kirov from Sovetsk along the Vyatka River, delivering crushed stone to be used for road repairs, the regional government reported. The barges traveled a distance of 267 kilometers along the river.

      Artur Derishev, head of the Department of the transport complex of the Ministry of Transport of the region, noted that the low-snow winter affected the level and timing of spring flooding this year. "With this in mind, the previously defined nomenclature and volume of goods for delivery by water transport on the Vyatka River in the current navigation has been adjusted. But despite the prevailing conditions, two barges with crushed stone were delivered on time along the Sovetsk — Kirov route," Derishev noted.

      The regional government said that this year cargo transportation on Vyatka will be continued on the Girsovo —Kirov section throughout navigation to deliver a sand-gravel mixture from the Zagarskoye subsurface area under development.
