Kirov celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War
Today, on May 9, celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War were held in Kirov. In the morning, citizens gathered at the Theater Square to honor the memory of the fallen, express gratitude to the veterans and support those who defend the country today.
The Victory Day parade began at 10:00 a.m. As in the previous year, it was possible to get to it using special tickets, which were distributed through enterprises, public organizations and political parties. Congratulations were delivered by the Governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov.
Veterans, military personnel, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, representatives of the bailiff service, cadets, members of the Russian Military Historical Society and other patriotic associations took part in the festive procession.
After the parade, the column, which included veterans, top officials of the region, families of participants in the special military operation and the soldiers themselves, proceeded to the Eternal Flame. A flower-laying ceremony was held there in memory of those who did not return from the fronts of World War II and who are fighting for their Homeland today.The weather on this day turned out to be truly spring. The bright sun illuminated and warmed those walking to the memorial, as if nature, along with people, bowed in gratitude before the heroic deed of the heroes.
