      Deputies of the Legislative Assembly adopted in the first reading a bill that aims to introduce additional support measures for employees of the fire service of the Kirov region.

      The need for change is linked to existing inequalities. Currently, employees of the federal fire service have the right to early retirement insurance, while their colleagues from the regional fire service are deprived of this opportunity. At the same time, both categories of firefighters perform similar tasks, and the difference between them lies only in departmental affiliation.

      To eliminate this injustice, it is proposed to introduce an additional social guarantee at the regional level. Employees of the Kirov Region Fire Service who have reached the age of 50 and have at least 25 years of experience in the fire service will receive a monthly payment. Its size is proposed to be set at 200% of the fixed payment to the old-age insurance pension.

      If the law is finally adopted, the new rules will take effect on January 1, 2026. Work on the draft law will continue in the second reading.
