The heating season is coming to an end in the Kirov region

      The heating season is coming to an end in several districts of the Kirov region. Thus, the administration of Vyatka Polyana announced that starting from April 22, heating will be turned off in the city. "Due to the steady average daily outdoor temperature of +8 degrees and above for five consecutive days," the Vyatka Polyana administration said.

      It should be noted that the decision to end the heating season of 2024-2025 in Kirov has not yet been made. As previously reported, the shutdown of heating in Kirov depends on weather conditions and is regulated by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 354. According to the rules, the heating is turned off if the average daily temperature exceeds +8 °C for five days and only warming is expected in the future. The decision on this is made by local authorities.

      Currently, the weather conditions do not meet the requirements under which heating in the homes of Kirov residents can be turned off. It should be noted that earlier amateur meteorologists reported about the upcoming decrease in air temperature in the city of Kirov. As the authors of the publication "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov" noted, the end of April and the beginning of May in the Kirov region will be cold. The cold snap will start on April 27 and may last until May 5. During this period, night frosts are expected and precipitation in the form of snow is likely.

      Currently, a contrasting atmospheric front stretches across the Kirov region. It separates two air masses with different characteristics, which is why the temperature contrast in the region is quite large. For example, today, on April 22, the air temperature in the city of Kirov in the afternoon was +8 degrees, in Vyatka Polyany the air warmed up to +25 degrees.
