The academic year has ended at the School of the Chairmen of the Village Council
This time, the heads of gardening associations met with representatives of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work in Kirov of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kirov region and the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration in the Kirov region. Officials shared statistics on fires and violations in the sale of seeds and other planting materials, and also introduced the audience to some important legislative changes.
Yuri Abashev, Deputy Head of the Phytosanitary Surveillance Department, advised the audience to be careful when buying seeds. Do not be fooled by the large discounts and the very low price set by some large federal chains. The bags may not contain what the gardeners expected. He also recalled that the Kirov region is an unfavorable region for the golden nematode of potatoes. In order to avoid unpleasant consequences, it is necessary to observe crop rotation and periodically change the seed material. But buy it at trusted outlets, rather than taking it from neighbors.
Sergey Khalturin, a representative of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kirov region, reminded the audience about the disappointing statistics. From 50 to 70 fires occur annually in farming co-ops located in the city. The main reasons are faulty wiring and careless handling of fire. He warned that on the long May weekend, when everyone will traditionally open the summer cottage season, burn grass and roast barbecue, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will launch raids.
The School of Chairmen is an educational project implemented in the Kirov region on the initiative of Oleg Valenchuk, a State Duma deputy and chairman of the Russian Horticultural Union, for more than 10 years. And each time, the agenda includes the most pressing issues related to the regulation of farming co–ops.
– Classes for the heads of gardening co–ops, organized within the framework of the Horticultural School, allow you to get the information you need to work in gardening, quickly and, as they say, first-hand, - said Oleg Valenchuk. – All the projects that the Union of Gardeners implements in the Kirov region are continuing. This year, the rural tariff for gardening co-ops has been re-approved, the annual Seeds of the Russian Horticultural Union program is being implemented, and grading of roads to horticultural associations will begin in May. We are currently accepting applications from the Chairmen and drawing up a work schedule.
