From the beginning of the school year, schools may introduce behavior assessments.

Sergey Kravtsov, the Minister of Education, announced that a separate bill will be developed to introduce behavior assessments in schools. His words are reported by the newspaper Kommersant.

By the way, grades for behavior were given in schools of the Russian Empire and the USSR, and in 1989 they were abolished. In March last year, the head of the HRC, Valery Fadeev, made a proposal to return to the previous assessment system. According to Fadeev, children with a "failure" for their behavior should not be allowed to take the final state exams. In June, Sergey Kravtsov agreed with the head of the HRC, but added that the issue of admission to exams should be discussed without making "spontaneous decisions." The Minister of Education also clarified that such an assessment measure should be objective.

According to Kommersant, this initiative was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin in December. On March 19, Kravtsov admitted that starting from the new academic year, such an assessment could begin in a trial mode.
