A 79-year-old local resident contacted the police department No. 1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Kirov. The pensioner reported that 60 thousand rubles were missing from her bag. According to her, a man who introduced himself as a water filter maintenance man worked in the apartment the day before. The woman discovered the loss after he left.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed with significant damage to a citizen).
During the operational search activities, the criminal investigation department identified the suspect. It turned out to be a 30-year-old resident of Kirov. The man admitted his guilt. He said that he noticed where the hostess was getting the money from, and took advantage of the moment when he was left without her attention.
The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
