Deputies discussed mass plantings
At a meeting of the relevant deputy commission on landscaping, it was announced that in 2025 it is planned to plant more than 600 trees and about 5 thousand shrubs in Kirov. This was announced by Svetlana Kekina, a specialist in the Department of Green Construction of the Directorate of Landscaping.
Landscaping will take place as part of an integrated approach: the work will be carried out not point-by-point, but along the entire length of the streets. In total, planting will take place on 18 streets and in 14 squares. In addition to planting new plants, specialists will carry out cleaning of emergency trees, sanitary and rejuvenating pruning.
In a week, active work will begin in the south-western microdistrict. Special containers with decorative trees will also appear on Vorovsky Streets and Victory Square in Novovyatsky district.
Additionally, it is planned to plant annual and perennial flowers in urban flower beds and flower beds.
The deputies instructed the administration to work out cooperation with Kirov enterprises that grow plants and are ready to work with the city under contracts. This will allow the use of planting material adapted to the local climate and reduce costs.
The head of the city, Elena Kovaleva, stressed the importance of including landscaping in projects for the construction of new streets and landscaping areas. According to her, it is necessary to make appropriate adjustments to the building plans.
