Rehabilitation of prisoners with addiction continues in the colony of the Kirov region
In correctional colony No. 11, located in the Kirov region, the departmental program of social and psychological assistance to convicts with alcohol and drug addiction continues to be implemented. Since 2018, more than 130 people have taken part in the course, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region reports.
The program is aimed at developing a stable motivation for treatment among convicts, avoiding the use of psychoactive substances and alcohol, as well as increasing stress tolerance and changing life attitudes.
As part of the program, the institution regularly hosts preventive events with the participation of representatives of relevant public organizations. For example, Dmitry Sobolev, director of the Chance Center for Social Adaptation, recently met with the convicts. He spoke about the mechanisms of addiction formation, the concept of "codependency", and also answered the questions of the meeting participants.
"Interaction with socially oriented organizations helps us to reinforce the positive results achieved during the course and share practical experience in the fight against addiction," said Nadezhda Russian, psychologist at the psychological laboratory IK-11.
According to experts, thanks to the work of psychologists, program participants demonstrate positive changes: they form a stable motivation for a sober lifestyle, realize the value of giving up bad habits, develop internal resources and change habitual life scenarios.
