Hunters are asked to help in the study of the game

The Federal Scientific Center Okhota continues to study how many and which birds hunters prey on. For this, researchers need help.

The Regional Ministry of Environmental Protection is asking hunters and game users to share information. Within a month after the end of the hunting season, you should send photos of captured ducks and geese to [email protected], as well as fill out special questionnaires.

In order for the photos to be useful to scientists, it is recommended to shoot the prey correctly. It is better to lay the birds on their stomachs or on their sides next to each other. One bird should have its wing spread out so that a colored speck, the "mirror", is visible. The head, neck and legs should also be visible. If there are many birds (more than ten), it is better to photograph them in parts or from different angles.

You need to shoot from above, standing up, so that the details are better visible. It is important to make sure that the date and time of shooting are correctly set on the camera or phone. You need to add information to each photo: when and where (district, region) the bird was captured. This can be written in the file name or in a separate text document. Photos do not need to be processed in programs.
