An employee of Vyatavtodor was sent to a penal colony for the death of two people in an accident.

      A terrible accident happened on the evening of August 24 last year on the Kostroma - Sharya — Kirov —Perm section of the R—243 highway in the Svechinsky district: a 68-year-old Gazelle Next driver chose the wrong speed limit and collided with a passing moped. As a result, the 34-year-old driver of a two-wheeled vehicle and his 13-year-old niece were killed.

      A criminal case was opened against an employee of Vyatavtodor JSC, who was driving a truck. He was convicted under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence). The man fully admitted his guilt in committing the crime, the case was considered in a special order. Before sentencing, the culprit of the accident reimbursed the relatives of the victims for the funeral expenses.

      The court agreed with the prosecutor's opinion and sentenced the driver to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a penal colony with the deprivation of the right to engage in driving activities for 2 years.

      In addition, the court verdict that came into force served as the basis for the appeal of the prosecutor of the Svechinsky district to the court in defense of the rights of the elderly victim to recover in her favor from the employee of Vyatavtodor compensation for moral damage caused due to the deaths of her son and granddaughter. The result is currently being monitored by the prosecutor's office.
